Role
Anders Lee is a 6'3", 234-pound left wing who spent his first 14 NHL seasons with the Islanders and captained them for the last eight. Utah signed him on July 1, 2026 to a three-year deal worth $5.4 million a year, per NHL.com. General manager Bill Armstrong called him "one of the best net front players in the game." He won the King Clancy Memorial Trophy in 2024.
He scored in his Mammoth debut on Oct. 1, off feeds from Andrew Peeke and Dmitri Simashev, and has 2 goals and 3 assists through 7 games. He's averaging about 12:55 a night and has one power-play point.
Outlook
Last season Lee had 19 goals and 23 assists in 82 games for the Islanders. NHL.com notes he has reached 20 goals in eight of his last 10 seasons, so the 19 was a near miss.
Our take: Utah has plenty of skill, and Lee adds a forward who lives in the crease. With the Mammoth scoring 3.86 goals a game (ESPN), he doesn't need big minutes to get near 20. Three years is the part that gives us pause at his age. This year looks fine.
